How to Get the Legendary Treasure in Skylanders Level 1

The first level of Skylanders is designed as a tutorial and introduction to the Skylanders video game, but to get all three stars (i.e. full completion of the level) it can still be quite tricky.

The most difficult item to locate is the Legendary Treasure.

It is hidden in a house that you need to blow up with a cannon. Here are the steps to find it.

Locate the first cannon and blow up the wall in front of it. (see picture above)
Go through and open the gate in the next section.
Go back and fire the cannon again. The cannonball will go through the gateway that you just opened and hit a house down the street, destoying it.

That's the location of the Skylanders Level 1 Legendary Treasure

Note that most hints online just say, "Fire the first cannon twice". What these people neglect to tell you is that you also have to open the gate. If you don't open the gate, the cannonballs bounce off it. They also look like they're hitting the house next to the gate, which I think is confusing many.
