At Affiliate Summit West 2008 in Las Vegas, I was honored with their Annual Pinnacle Award for Best Blogger.
A few people who joked with me that now I’ve got to keep blogging.
But it is really no joke. I do feel some pressure, not only as an “award winner” and whatever spotlight that provides, but to seize the opportunity as Gary Vaynerchuk would advise. (I was quite inspired by Gary’s Keynote. Only the biggest Gary Vee hater would not be moved.)
So after I get back from Disneyworld, and build an award shelf, where do I take this thing?
My focus here is on Affiliate Marketing. A niche in a niche. It’s a pretty small market, and my relatively small RSS subscription numbers reflect that. I think that my reader-base tends to be people who have been around affiliate marketing for a while.
I’d like to get that number up. But how? I don’t see that increasing by writing the same industry insider stuff, which I will continue to do.
I see that increasing by writing more often and about topics that appeal to people beyond the established affiliate industry folk.
What do you think?
You guys rallied to help me decide what to do with my second blog, which is now here at snaps.jangro.com. What would you like to see more of?
And given what you might imagine that I could write effectively about, what should that be that could appeal to a larger audience?
Thanks for the inspiration. And thanks to Shawn and Missy for the “glass”!
