The Affiliate Blog List V2
If you're new here, please subscribe to my RSS feed. And follow me on twitter. Thanks for visiting!
Not very long ago, I announced the availability of my new Affiliate Blog List. Since then, I’ve added some new features and given it a bit of a facelift (because Jim Kukral is a self-proclaimed design snob and won’t visit an ugly site). Ok, it’s still ugly, but it’s less ugly.
Again, the general idea of the blog list is that I think that there are a bunch of great blogs out there and some really interesting posts appear all over the Net. We all have our feed readers, but it’s so easy to miss something important. By adding a social aspect to what’s otherwise an RSS reader, I’m hoping that the truly-can’t-miss posts will bubble up to the top. So if you read a blog entry and like it, give it a bump, increasing the chances that others will see it too.
There are other folks out there who have similar efforts, like Linda Buquet’s AffiliateMarketingBuzz.com and Terry at SuperAff.com’s Affiliate Marketing Blogs list. I don’t mean to step on those, but hey, if we never did stuff because someone else is working on it, we’d have nothing to do. Anyway, check ‘em out.
Feature-wise, I’ve done a number of things in the past few days:
- I cleaned up the voting scheme. Previously, it was possible for anyone to vote multiple times, heck, even googlebot could bump or dump an entry and that was becoming a problem!
- I’ve added accounts and profiles. What’s a social site without user accounts, thumbnail profile pictures, and a mechanism for adding friends to your profile? Your profile page also has a list of the entries that you have bumped. So you can keep track of your favorite blog entries.
- Â Â Â Â You can also comment on blog entries and perhaps share your thoughts on why they’re a good read.
I’ve got some other new features in mind and will be working on those. If you have any ideas, please do let me know. It’s a fun project.
I’ll close with an answer to the top question I’m getting:
“I have blog, how do I get listed?” Or, “How come you haven’t included my blog? I’m the preeminent affiliate marketing blogger, donchaknow!”
Answer: If your blog is about Internet Marketing, I’d be happy to include it. So far, I’ve included blogs that have requested inclusion and I’m starting to add those that I personally like to read. Affiliate Marketing is the focus and I think expanding into SEO makes sense as well. I’ll include most blogs, but If you’re an affiliate with a blog selling something, I don’t think that’s a great fit. Please drop me an email or add a comment here if you’d like to be included.
If you’re enjoying the tool, please let me know.

C’mon Scott, you make it sound like being a design snob is a bad thing! You and me are gonna throw down martinis at the summit and see who’s left standing!
Well you have pushed me to do better, Jim, and for that I’m grateful.
When did you had time for that? I was so busy that I could not even get the redesign of my resources site done (yeah, still safari issues).
I am looking for a designer though since I believe it to be the best way to go. Since it is a personal pet project am I not putting it out on eLance for a bid, but look for a personal recommendation from somebody I trust. I am willing to pay for it of course. … Jim?
Anyhow; I added your toy to my resources.

Good Job. Too bad that you did not contact me for this, since you know that I also have some interest in the same subject. I also have some ideas which I was kicking around, but compared to you was I a bit too busy to get something going beyond my aggregated news feeds. Let me know if you want to hear them. I share without the need to get me drunk at Affiliate Summit ;).
Sorry for the short outage this am if anyone ran into that.
Carsten, thanks. Of course if you want to share, I’m all ears. I’ve got a lot of ideas of my own — too many in fact.
Great resource Scott and thanks for the mention and the link to The Buzz.
Let’s kick this around at the summit. It’s a good time for something like that.
hey scott,
good job on the revamp.
looks like this is the spot to be, with the number of ASW attendees hanging out here.
whatever happens in vegas, stays in vegas?
