New Grassroots Affiliate Organization, Affiliate Trust

by Scott Jangro on 18 December 2008

affiliatetrust.jpgThis month, an organization has spun out of the ABestWeb community to help to shine light on ethical issues in affiliate marketing.

The site has just been launched and the first few posts were added by the outspoken Affiliate Marketer and ABestWeb member, Ed Byerly, which give you some feel for the direction he’s headed with it.

The first issue the Affiliate Trust is tackling is the issue of affiliates using toolbars and software apps to unfairly claim commissions in the name of giving to charity.

Of this topic, from the about page…

The Affiliate Trust was formed to meet a need in the Internet marketing industry…That need has gone unmet far too long and begs for action….Affiliate Trust will meet this challenge through media presentations, investigations, incentives, and business to business relations.

From the discussion at ABW, it sounds like he’ll be involving others, but those have not yet been identified.

  • Thanks for posting this Scott.
The Affiliate Trust is in no way associated with ABW. In fact, my moderator duties at ABW have been relinquished to avoid any conflict of interest.
Free membership is now open at the AT. We covet the support of any who are interested in working to promote effective and ethical affiliate marketing methods.
  • A very interesting new affiliate marketing idea. I have tried the commission junctions and adbrites of the world and would love to see this new one happen and become a giant. I am never going to get rich of Adsense either.
  • Interesting thanks for sharing Scotty.
  • So, is this an offshoot from the Affiliate Voice thing they're up to?
  • I don't know Trish, I don't think so.
