Scott, this is a great series. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and like Angle said, perching over your shoulder. I think one of the most difficult things for merchants, and really anyone in this industry, is understanding this. Being able to read about this in a concise manner, I think, will really help people to get their heads around it. I will do my best to let others know of your work here. Thanks!

It's true that the impact is the same as the adware, but I don't think that
people see that. That's what I'm hoping to shine some light on.
Thanks for the link to Kellie's stuff. I'll change the link in the post to
go there, as it should have.

I look forward to reading your series and I think it's great that you're doing this, another voice, another perspective, another place for our peers to learn. Thank you for committing resources to this!

I'd also suggest that anyone new to understanding this, view Kellie's video series here:
http://www.affiliatefairplay.com/adware_tutoria...

Whether it's adware launched or BHO loyaltyware, the end effect is very similar on all parties involved.

Hi Scott,

Happy to perch on your shoulder and watch the screencasts in this series. I hear repeatedly from the purveyors of such toolbars SchoolPop, Ebates, etc that they make up less than 1% of their online sales. Yet they keep putting resources both in the forms of content and engineering time towards them. Glad you are putting together his series and very interested in seeing your observations.

Angel
