Jangrocast 7: New Yuck, New York

If you're new here, please subscribe to my RSS feed. And follow me on twitter. Thanks for visiting!

For the past few weeks I’ve been partly in information overload, party in get some stuff done mode and 100% absent of podcasts. So much so that I’m out of practice and went through this the first time without having hit the record button in GarageBand. I hate when that happens.

In this podcast I take a crack at answering Sam’s question, What happened to affiliate marketing bloggers? Maybe not so much answering it as go on about some of the current conditions of the blogosphere that are contributing to what Sam’s observing.

In short, I don’t think anything happened to the bloggers. Something happened to the readers. Sprawl has become a major issue, and with less attention in one place, it’s difficult for the bloggers to be focused on, and therefore themselves focus. This problem seems to be getting worse.

This is a big subject that I only partially tackle in this podcast. But there is an important issue here, that I don’t think I’ve completely got my head around yet.

Otherwise, I weigh in with my own thoughts and theories on what happened with the New York affiliate sales tax, why it happened, and hopefully how it’ll get reversed. I also touch on the Overstock reaction.

  1. Hi,

We are in the process of compiling a comprehensive “Do Follow” List. We have placed your blog on our list. The list can be seen at http://www.tucsonseosolutions.com/dofollowlisto.... If you do not see your listing that is because it is updated every Monday. We were hoping that you might consider linking to us and perhaps even writing about our effort.

    Boris
